Wall Portraits
Wall Portraits come in four different style options;
|
|
1) Contemporary (matted framed under glass)
The traditional way to display black and white or sepia toned portraits. This finish can be distinctively modern or classical to suit your taste.
Your portrait is first enhanced using the artistic controls of cropping, colour balancing and vignetting. Subtle retouching and contrast control helps direct the eye to the important areas of the image.
Your portrait is next digitally printed onto Kodak “Endura” paper that has a warranted life of 100 years, and then it is bonded to a suitable archival material ready for framing. Your choice of mats, glass and frame will give your portraits the perfect look for your home.

2) Genuine Canvas
Recommended for colour portraits where you wish to emulate an oil painting. For a modern look we wrap the canvas over a strecher frame and the image is visible on the edges of the panel.
Great for display as there is very little surface reflection.
The print is made using the artistic photographic techniques of digital photography to enhance the detail and subject matter. Your portrait is next digitally printed onto Kodak “Endura” paper that has a warranted life of 100 years, and then embedded into fine artist’s canvas.
The finished portrait can be either wrapped around a stretcher frame or mounted on board and framed traditionally without glass or a mat. The whole surface can be wiped clean with a dry cloth.

3) Elite (textured)
This finish features a very fine textured wipe clean surface which does not require glass, and greatly reduces reflection. We recommend this surface for multiple images in a single frame as the fine texture does not interfere with detail in small images.
Your portrait is first enhanced using the artistic controls of cropping, colour balancing and vignetting. Contrast control and subtle retouching helps direct the eye to the important parts of the image. Your image is then digitally printed onto Kodak “Endura” photographic paper which has a display life of 100 years in normal room lighting. The fine surface texture is now permanently bonded to the surface of the print. This finish is suitable for the smaller sizes, and for posting overseas. Now available with a mat, bevels and lines which make the portrait look like a traditional matted print.

4) Triptychs and Multiples
These are where several images are displayed in one frame together and may tell a story. This is one of the most popular ways to display portraits.
Made specifically to your requirements, it can be finished with a wipe clean Elite finish or under glass with a mat (Contemporary) style. Three, four, five seven or nine images can all be in the one frame. If the images are freestyle and combined to make a single image it is called a poster.

Portrait Sizing
A portrait size is measured by the image size (not frame size). Portraits are cropped to suit the image. This is to say the length and height dimensions may vary to best suit the composition of the image. A portraits size is determined by its longest measurement, measured straight across the bottom or vertically, which ever is the longest. For example a standard portrait is 24inches by 20 inches so it is called a 24 inch portrait.
